Russian Salon Dog Program Update

The Winter Kingdom Litter will be our final litter for the immediate future as we move into the next phase of development for our Russian Salon Dog program.

Moving forward, we are intentionally pausing breeding until our upcoming brood bitches have:

Earned conformation titles

Completed and had results submitted for the following health screenings:

OFA Patellas

OFA Cardiac

CAER (eye exam)

Embark DNA testing

This decision reflects our continued commitment to responsible breeding, health transparency, and preservation of correct breed type and temperament. Taking the time to title and fully health-test our future breeding dogs ensures we are making thoughtful, ethical choices for the long-term integrity of the Russian Salon Dog.

We appreciate the continued support and trust from our puppy families, fellow breeders, and the broader Russian Salon Dog community. Updates will be shared as milestones are achieved and our program progresses.

Sometimes the Best Plans Are the Ones That Change

At Petit Bijou, every decision we make is guided by what is best for our dogs and for the long-term integrity of our breeding program. Occasionally, plans shift—and when they do, they often lead us exactly where we were meant to be.

Petit Bijou Autumn’s Golden Dawn “Alina” was originally reserved, but as she continued to mature it became clear that she is truly something special. With her correct structure, beautiful expression, and balanced, medium-boned size, Alina represents the Russian Salon Dog exactly as we strive to preserve it.

While her size may not have aligned with another breeder’s individual goals, she fits perfectly within our preferred size and type for a female. What may not be the right match for one program can be exactly what another is built around—and for us, Alina is a wonderful example of that philosophy.

After thoughtful consideration, we made the decision to keep her here at Petit Bijou. Alina will remain with us as an up-and-coming show prospect and a future foundation female in our program. She is a keeper in every sense—bred with intention, raised with care, and destined to contribute meaningfully to the future of the breed.

We believe wholeheartedly that things work out the way they are meant to, and Alina’s story is a perfect example of that. Sometimes, the dogs choose us—and this time, Alina chose to stay home.

For the first time in our breeding program we have had a male Red & White puppy born. As many of you know I prefer the solid color or minimal white Russian Salons so this beautiful one of a kind boy will be available for a show/breeding home if he turns out well.

Dam: Shanti Rush Victoria “Honey” – a rich red Russian Salon Dog with exceptional coat quality, a sweet, affectionate nature, and graceful structure.

Sire: Int.CH Gemchugina Dalen Valensio “Valek” – a stunning gold Russian Salon Dog, International Champion, admired for his outstanding conformation, confident temperament, and luminous coat.

This pairing beautifully combines rich color genetics, elegant type, and loving dispositions. We anticipate red and red & white puppies with vibrant coats, correct structure, and charming personalities.

Puppies will be raised in our home with attentive care and early socialization. Each will go home with:

This sweet little Russian Salon Dog girl was one I had originally held back as a potential show and breeding prospect. She’s an absolute joy — full of energy, personality, and charm — but she’s matured a bit shorter than my preferred size at just under 8” tall and 10” long, weighing 4.5 lbs. Her predicted adult weight is around 5.3–5.5 lbs.

Her mother is Olivia - 8.3 lbs.

Her sire is Hadrian - 5.7 lbs. (Retired from our program and now in a wonderful pet home.)

• Gorgeous cream and white coat with a silky texture

• Beautiful conformation, square and balanced

• Happy, confident, and curious — she loves exploring and just started lead training!

• Would make a lovely companion, and she’s still eligible for IABCA showing if desired.

Gemchugina Dalen Valensio attened the IABCA Peach State Sumer Sieger and we are proud to announce that he is now an International Champion. We are very proud of him and look forward to great things from him.

Olivia blessed us with four stunning puppies on February 26, 2025. She had two males, red and cream and two females, white red and white cream. We are very fortunate to have such a nice litter.

December 3, 2024

United Kennel Club (UKC) moves Russian Salon Dogs to Phase Two of their Bloodlines Listing Service and we can register dogs, litters, and participate in sporting events with our RSDRA pedigree. We are not yet eligible for conformation.

October 19th and 20th, 2024

We participated at the IABCA Tarheel Autumn Sieger in Sanford, NC

We had an amazing turn out of 7 Russian Salons and their owners. We had three puppies with us and are proud to announce they received the highest scores and are now all three International Puppy Champions and Sunny (Petit Bijou Sunfyre Celestial Flame) went BIS Puppy BBE. We were also happy to see Anastasia (Petit Bijou Once Upon A December) and Starling (Petit Bijou Winter Palace Scarlett Princess) They both won their adult class International Champion title. Anastasia went RBIS Rare Breed Adult also.

We were also very thrilled to see Skirpuchy and Kuzi in addition to our Petit Bijou gang.

We are so very thrilled that Petit Bijou has produces 7 titled champions since we started our Russian Salon Program in 2021 and started showing October 2023.

We are very excited to announce the highly anticipated arrival of Gemchugina Dalen Valen and Gemchugina Dalen Versailles Red Queen in 2025. They will start their show career with IABCA in March 2025. We are so blessed to have been given the opportunity to have such lovely Russian Salons in our home.

We have once again been blessed with beautiful Russian Salon Puppies. Lady had five healthy puppies, and we cannot wait to see how they grow and develop.

IABCA Show September 21/22, 2024, West Columbia, SC

We would like to extend our congratulations to Kim Ballentine of Royla Rusalkas on her awesome win of BOB in all five shows, BIS Rare Breed and BIS Puppy with her own beautiful Petit Bijou Once Upon a December "Anastasia" She is now a titled International Champion - Jr. Puppy

This makes the second Petit Bijou puppy to win a BIS and the third Petit Bijou Russian Salon Dog to have a Champion Title. We are heading the USA with health tested titled Russian Salon Dogs.

We have had a very busy past three weeks with the arrival of new puppies. Honey blessed us with one lovely tri colored female, that can be added to a colorful RSD breeding program and Olivia blessed us with three beautiful puppies. One clear red, a red and white, and a cream. We could not be prouder of our mamas and all the hard work we have all put in our RSD program.

We are proud to announce that, VIP Dazzling Little Star Whiskey, is now a Jr. Champion and will be here in the USA in June. We are very proud of him and his team Panagiotis and Christos for their excellent breeding, care, grooming and handling during the past nine months.

I'm very excited to share that Whiskey participated in the World Dog Show in Zagreb, Croatia on April 28, 2024, and performed exceptionally well. He earned the titles of Puppy World Cup Winner, Puppy Croatia Winner, Best Puppy, and Best Male Puppy. I am so pleased with his demeanor and training.

Petit Bijou Winter Soldier "Sasha"

BIS Rare Breed Puppy, Reserve BIS Bred by Exhibitor, and Best of Breed in all four shows. Sasha is the 2nd Russian Salon to be shown in the USA and the second Petit Bijou Russian Salon to be shown. Sasha is now on track to become a National Baby Champion (awaiting IABCA confirmation). His next journey will be to his new owner in Miami, Florida. We are optimistic that he will continue to excel in the show ring as he grows.

IABCA Show October 2023- A New Record for Russian Salons in the USA

Petit Bijou Sunjoy Archer, achieved the highest score of V-1 in all four shows, becoming an International Champion and the first Russian Salon Dog to be exhibited and titled in the United States.
